Heathrow Terminal Changes - London, England

Several British Airways destinations are moving to a new terminal at London Heathrow this week, as a result of the closure of Terminal 1. British Airways will be consolidating London Heathrow operations into two terminals: Terminal 3 and Terminal 5.

On June 30, British Airways will begin the move out of Terminal 1. Services to and from Hanover, Luxembourg, Lyon, Bilbao and Marseille will all move to Terminal 3, whilst Amman, Baku, Beirut and Cairo services will move to Terminal 5.  Terminal 3 will be home to twenty-one British Airways routes by the end of 2015.

Additionally, there have been investments to improve the customer experience in the terminal—including a Galleries Club lounge, Galleries First lounge, Elemis Travel Spa and a new British Airways check-in area.

Other changes within Terminal 3 will include:

  • A new baggage system to speed baggage between Terminal 3 and Terminal 5
  • A new Flight Connections Centre for transfer passengers
  • New buses for customers who are transferring to/from Terminal 5
  • Extended Departures lounge and shopping area
  • Convenient connections to OneWorld partners who operate from Terminal 3 (American Airlines, Finnair, Japan Airlines, LAN, Royal Jordanian, Qantas, Malaysia, Cathay Pacific, SriLankan Airlines)
